During its 17th meeting held on 13th February 2010, the tzNIC Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) approved four (4) applications from local companies to be .tz domain name Registrars. These companies become the first accredited Registrars since tzNIC adopted a shared registry - registrar - registrant operational model. The tzNIC accredited registrars will be serving the Internet community with .tz registry services alongside tzNIC. |

tzNIC initiates the .tz TLD redelegation |

The Tanzania Network Information Centre (tzNIC) has initiated the .tz TLD re-delegation process. The process was initiated in mid-October by sending a re-delegation template to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) after successfully taking over the full management of all the .tz Second Level Domains (SLDs) in August 2009.
