Companies using a .com domain name are more likely to be 'directing' their activities at foreign consumers, affecting where they can sue or be sued. This is reflected in one of the reasons why Tanzanians are encouraged to use .tz domain names instead of generic ones (e.g. .com) or other countries' Top Level Domains so that they can enjoy registry operations that are based on local business environments.
