tzNIC has signed an MoU with the Centre for ICT Research and Innovation (CIRI) of IFM in facilitating the publicity, capacity building and knowledge sharing.

To start with, a workshop on ".tz ccTLD Management - Experiences and opportunities" will take place on 11th November 2010 at IFM (TGDLC Video Conferencing Room) from 1500 to 1730 hrs. The workshop is open to the whole Local Internet Community (LIC).

Abstract:

Country Code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs) are part of the critical Internet infrastructure, the Domain Name System (DNS). ccTLDs help countries to promote, customize and manage internet usage in their respective contexts. This helps to advance cyber-visibility as well as development of local internet businesses and applications. Administering and managing the ccTLDs is a challenging activity. This is especially so in the developing countries. Examples of such challenges include inadequate awareness, unsupportive mindset, influence of unreliable infrastructure, etc. Accordingly, interesting knowledge and experience is accumulated along the process of addressing the challenges. This workshop aims at sharing experiences and knowledge learned in the course of managing the .tz ccTLD.
