The African Top Level Domains Association event (AfTLD 2009) that began on 13th April 2009 finally ended on 17th April 2009.The event was held at Naura Springs Hotel (Kilimanjaro Conference Hall), Arusha - Tanzania. The event included the AfTLD Annual General Meeting (AGM) and two days hands-on workshop training on Attack and Contingency Recovery Planning (ACRP). There was also a workshop on IPv6 and DNSSEC that was held in parallel with the ACRP training. About 22 African countries were represented and Tanzania had about 30% representation in the ACRP training (core track). Tanzanian participants who attended the ACRP training were from tzNIC, UCC, Wia, Habari (Node Marie) and Costech.

The non-core track on DNSSEC and IPv6 had Tanzanian participants from BOT, tzNIC, TCRA, SimbaNet, Habari (Node Marie), Costech, Wia, FCC, UCC, DIT and Sandata solutions.

The event was organized and generously hosted by the Tanzania Network Information Centre (tzNIC) with the support from The Ministry of Communications, Science & Technology and Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority. The GoH was Hon. MP Dr. Maua Daftari - The Deputy Minister from The Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology.
